What should I do about my boyfriend?

I kinda like to be a recluse during the summer away from my school friends and just be with my family or be alone. I guess I'm kinda anti-social. I got a boyfriend before school let out for summer and he's really being annoying about getting together and doing crap, so I've just started ignoring his texts. I'm actually pondering breaking up with him, but I don't want to drag him on a date to do it and I don't want to do it over the phone (seems kinda mean). Should I just continue avoiding him or should I drag him out on a date to dump him?
