Painful contractions 7-8 minutes a part... could this be labor?

2 days ago at my doctor's appointment the doctor checked my cervix and said there was not a lot going on as far as dilation goes. That night, I had a lot of bleeding (basically a light period). I went to L&D to get it checked out and it was the result of my cervical check. They said I was having minor contractions. The next morning though I lost my mucus plug (it had blood in it, but I'm not sure if it can be considered my bloody show since I was bleeding the whole night). Then yesterday, I had contractions 6-8 minutes a part for over an hour, but they were hardly painful and went away once I went to bed. Now I woke up and I've been having very painful contractions every 7-8 minutes for half an hour, and they're still coming. It feels like a lot of pressure and pain in my bottom, back, and lower abdomen and they've been lasting a minute. I'm 39 weeks 6 days (my due date is tomorrow). Could this finally be labor?
