How can I speed up dilation?

I am going on 40+ weeks of my pregnancy and on friday the 13 of may my Dr told me i was 1.5 centimeters dilated and I saw him again the following monday and not much had changed but went to 2 centimeters, since monday I've been in so much pain, with no regular contractions, and he wants to schedule a induction on saturday, which is a bit scary. I would like her to come soon witout having to do that ... so does anyone have any SAFE suggestions as how to speed up this dilation process?? Thank you!!
